The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has initiated the clearing of the Igbokuta Bridge of sand and weeds to facilitate regular drainage maintenance and prevent blockages.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, he said that the measure aims to promote environmental maintenance within the community and reflect the administration’s commitment to providing both immediate and long-term solutions to the root causes of flooding.
Hon. Benson emphasized that his administration will continue to implement decisive measures to enforce his environmental plans, while taking a strategic approach to combat flooding and maintain a clean environment.

“We are investing in the future well-being of our community. As part of our commitment to addressing flooding, improving sanitation, and creating a healthier environment, we must work together.
“Let us unite and take responsibility for our environment. Our goal is to create sustainable solutions, and we remain committed to this responsibility”, he said.
He added: “The clearing marks the beginning of infrastructural development aimed at tackling some of the environmental challenges faced in Imota community, with consistent efforts to achieve a cleaner, safer, healthier, and better environment for everyone in Imota LCDA”.
